Design & Build
Our garden design process is based on the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and LI (Landscape Institute) planning criteria. Our finished garden designs are built to the exacting standard required by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) show gardens team.
When you embark on your garden transformation journey with George-Stone Gardens, you are beginning a very personal design process that helps to build your wish list into your dream garden based on who you are and how you enjoy spending time in your garden.
01 Book an Initial Meeting
Book an initial meeting with a landscape architect where we will have an initial discussion to understand your project.
02 Briefing Survey
Before any design work begins, we identify your core requirements. Together we will refine your strategic brief and through detailed on-site surveys and collaborative meetings we will shape the project's foundation.
03 Initial Garden Designs
After the design brief has been approved, we prepare creative options for your outdoor space. We present you with options that are suitable for your home, outside space, light, soil and surroundings that meet your design brief aspirations.
04 Master Plan
We progress the chosen concept designs until we arrive at the Master Plan. The plan is at scale and includes high level specifications and planting styles. This is your visual and strategic blueprint of your garden project.
- 05
- Technical Construction Planning
Detailed CAD build plans are produced for every part of the garden including hard landscaping, planting plans and contractor plans to coordinate all teams on site. This stage covers all engineering considerations and finishing spec details allowing for accurate budgeting.
06 Construction
Our design team works closely with the landscaping teams and specialist contractors to ensure that the design is fully realised in every detail. Our management team are expert at translating all of your technical design phase project plans to ensure they are followed to the letter.
- 07
- Handover and Practical Completion
We provide you with a comprehensive handover process talking though all of the features and elements of your garden to provide you with all of the guidance required to keep your new garden progressing beautifully.

George-Stone helped us design a transformational landscape scheme for our rear garden which included an eye catching water feature and lighting. Andy and his hardy team battled through the winter months and delivered a high quality result on time. They are a good team to work with and I’m happy to recommend their services.
